Ok guys.. here we go:

First, what is the problem that I heard about compatibility issues with VIA chipsets? Are they fixable? (I have a VIA KT133 chipset)

Second, does creative makes drivers for use in Linux Operating System?

Finally, what are some good speakers that take advantage of this card audio output?

Thanks in advance for any info you may give me.!

I have not had any problems with mine and the Via chipset.
Have you gotten the card yet or are you in the Recon. phase?

What's the Recon phase (if I may ask)?

Also, I haven't received the card yet but hopefully I think that by tommorrow I'll have it. It's just that I've heard people say the the Live has some clicking or strange noises when coupled with a VIA chipset.!?!?!

don't worry about those issues, i have a sounds blaster live series card and have not had any problems with it yet. i have a via chipset, mobo is asus p3v4x and it uses the via chipset. havne't had a problem with teh sound blaster card yet. as for the speakers, buy a 4 piece speaker if the sound card supports it. labtec is a good cheap brand for speakers.

I have a SB Live Value on an Iwill KK266 motherboard (VIA chipset). No problems. The card supports 4 speaker surround sound. I'm using a relatively inexpensive but great sounding set from Cambridge Soundworks. The set comes with 4 satelite (small) speakers and a subwoofer. I think I paid $50.

Good luck.

PS: I think what surrealchereal meant by recon phase is: "are you still looking or have you purchased the card?" If I'm mispeaking for surrealchereal I apologize.

I have sound blaster live and via chipset and no problems what-so-ever. As for the linux drivers, I don't think so. I don't remember seeing anything for linux while on their site. Finally, Recon is a military term used for "Looking Around". Have a good one.

Oh.. thanks guys..!! Now I know a new term.. heheh kewl.!

Anyway it's cool you like your card, I'm sure I'll like it. The only complaint it's the linux drivers. Even my integrated C-Media sound card has linux drivers.!!!

What's happening Creative.?????

I'm planning to buy some good speakers (so that I can watch my Robotech DVD's at full surround sound power...--HEELLYEAHHH)
that's why I asked.

Thanks for your opinions guys.!

I installed the card and.. what can I say!!! It sounds great in my stereo system.!!! I'm impressed it's a quantum leap over my super integrated C-Media card (which does a fabulous job by the way). No problems whatsoever.!!!
