I've been reading abit about Serial ATA drives and they're pretty **** fast. Would/Could you mix the use of SATA and conventional IDE drives? I was thinking of setting up a comp with an SATA drive as the boot and main drive and have an IDE as storage. Would that benefit me in anyway? I do alot of 3D work and AfterFX work... Any opinions? Thx.

Yes it would benefit you. SATA is faster and you would be using separate controllers too for more real bandwidth overall. It's a great idea.

Now is the only SATA drive that's available on the market, the Western Digital Raptor, or are there others? I've only seen reviews for that drive.
*update*
Never mind that^. I found others. Just seems like the WD Raptor is the only one that spins at 10000rpm. Could you guys recommend any other SATA drives? Thx.
