Time for the summer upgrade before college (BTW I graduate friday 5/8 YAY) and I was thinking of the following:

I have some gift money and I was thinking of getting a DVD-ROM drive for college. This way I could watch movies. A while ago I was looking into the Pioneer Slot-loading DVD drives they sold. What attracted me was the design and I also heard they were pretty quiet as far as drives go (excluding the TrueX drives)

Anyone have this drive? Is it any good? Quiet?

Next up is Power Supplies. Mine currently is on the drop and I was going to get meself a new one so my computer doesn't explode. I'm ordering a semi-fancy Watercooling kit and some high quality Panaflo fans in order to cool my pc and be quiet at the same time. I was wondering, what is the standard Power Supply Fan size? I was going to buy and extra Panaflo fan for the PS unit so that it too would be nice and quiet. I looked at my PS and the fan looks bigger than 80mm but it is of a style where the PS sucks air from the bottom rather than having a fan blowing out the back. I always thought the "blow out the back" model was just an 80mm fan?

Thanks

I have a pioneer cd-rom that is a slot loader. After less than a year of use, it fails to eject a cd 99% of the time. I have opened it and I will be able to fix it, but its still a pain. I don't know if this is a design flaw, or just a lemon that I bought. Other than that, I really like it. Have fun watching movies.

Pioneer drives are very good and for power supplies this (http://www.enermax.com.tw/products/switch-main.htm) is what I have:EG465P-VE,I recomend it.

I've had no problems with my Pioneer 104 drive (*10*40 I think).

I'd also recommend the Enermax power supplies, too - VERY quiet and you'll never run out of 4-pin Molex connectors with these http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

Not the cheapest, but you're paying for quality!
