Jacob:

I reviewed the SiSoft Sandra "analysis" of your system. You're right: a chunk of time would be required to comment on every system component & tip. I do not have that much time this moment. Tell us, what motherboard, CPU {& chipset} are in this system if you know? And how much (mega-bytes) physical memory and what type, e.g., PC66 SDRAM, PC100 SDRAM ECC, NON-ECC, PC133?

Jacob:

You should click the "?" at the corner of the SiSoftSandra analysis screen. There (new window opens) you can find pretty good explanations about the "problems" SSS finds out. But 90% of the "warnings" and "notices" dont mean anything.

But in short some possible problems:
1. Since your memory doesnt have error detection, your memory might cause trouble. If you "cant" enable it from the BIOS, there is little you can do except buy new mainboard/processor (Duron is GREAT!).
2. Upgrade your RAGE IIC BIOS and drivers, check the manufactorers page how to do it.
3. You might concider taking the chance and flashing your BIOS altought its dangerous, it could solve many of your problems. Check the manufacturer how to do it.
4. Install OpenGL, perhaps you should install DirectX 8 too.

There doesnt seem to be anything else critically wrong in your system, and to honest, only thing I think *might* cause you trouble is old BIOS and the fact that you havent done full Scandisk - Defrag - Scanreg /fix -procedures...

Is this what you wanted to know?

As jansson_markus said most of the warnings don't mean much.On your AGP aperature for most people set it to 64mb or 128mb depending on how much memory you have and for direct x you can get 8a here (http://www.microsoft.com/directx/homeuser/downloads/default.asp)

If you are wondering about RAM, why not borrow some from a friend of yours? Just to check whether you still have *problems* when using her/he's RAM. If not, then you RAM is busted. Its that simple. I hope.

What is "free time"? - Elf

I don't know. It has nothing to do with the question JacobM5727 is asking. He could have been more informative with his Topic and wasted less of my not-ever-free time. - 8-Ball

Is "strang" the past tense of "string"? - The Third

free time- lets break it down:

free: 5b : not taken up with commitments or obligations
7a (2) : not being used or occupied

time: 1 a : the measured or measurable period during which an action, process, or condition exists or continues : DURATION

so, free time would be a measurable period that is not being used or occupied.

free time has alot to do with my question, because it would take several of these unoccupied periods to complete the this task

you can answer my question and make use of your free time.
