3rd party cookies info on messages boards

I've experenced on several massage boards, haveing to log in every time I go to the site.
I have cookies enabled. I have 3rd party cookies disabled. That means the cookies used on bbs forums to keep my board info, are 3rd party. Wouldn't cookies used for a message board for the same board be 1st party? Why is my info for the page a 3rd party? Thanks, Chris.

Do you have cookies turned on in the forum usercp/edit options? If thats what you mean.

No, I have my win 98 set to accept cookies but not to accept 3rd party cookies. I have to keep logging in to forums (not just this one, but all others). That means the cookies used by the website to keep track at the same website are 3rd party.

Why are cookies recived on a website, for the same website 3rd party? Seems like if bbs X uses a cookie to track me on there website, that should be 1st or 2nd.

I even have some sites when I log on, do some things and go to a differnt site, come back (with the same browser) I have to log in again.
