im having a problem when i installed winXp in my computer, the free space on my computer changes from 500 Mb to 277 until droping to 95Mb( it's drive C), this happens everytime i boot up.... im using a western digital 40gb 5400 rpm with 10% partition in C, 40% in D and 50% E, what would be the reason? what is the minimum requirement for XP with its office Xp?

It's the pagefile changing size because you don't have enough RAM. Try moving the pagefile to another partition and make it a fixed size:

Scroll down to "Adjust Page File".

More RAM would help too. ;)

Windows always reserves drive space for a paging file. It also uses it sometimes whether it needs to or not. A fixed size should help, but let's face it - you need more room on that drive. My rule of thumb is to never use more than 50% of the C: drive because the data keeps expanding there.
