I'd recommend either jamming it into the fins of the HS or gluing it somehow to the HS. Run tests to see the lowest idle temp and the temp at 100%, under normal conditions, that way you can see if there is a problem. 50C ooutside the HS is going to be way too hot, while the temp from an onboard temp gauge is ok at 50C. Let me retract the glue statement. Glue is not heat conductive. Try and find a way to wedge it in while touching the HS close the the CPU.
Good luck
Dave

Thanks, Daveleau. I was just thinking the same about non-thermal conductivity or inaccurate readings becuz of poor thermal conductivity... Same with System sensor, which presumably must go on the mobo somewhere! Hmm.

I'll play with it.

Fellow Members:

I purchased a Temperature Bay (http://www.3dcool.com/temperaturebay.shtml) . It fits into a 5.25" slot, and comes with two Led temp readouts with 36" sensor cables. I want to be able to see my CPU and System temps at a glance.

I suppose the CPU sensor should be as near the CPU/HS as possible without squishing the probe between the CPU & HSF... Can I use a spot of glue to secure one sensor near the CPU and the other (System) sensor to the motherboard?

Thx for your suggestions!
