Installing a Sapphire Radeon 7000 to a M571 motherboard.

However, the gold connectors do not appear to be at a uniform depth along the length of the PCI slot. Problem is I can't push it down any further at the back because the L-bracket fouls the case.

Could this be causing the PC not to boot nor display anything on screen?

If it's not seated properly, you could have a problem. You may want to test it in another system to make sure it works though.

Usually the L-bracket will slide down smoothly, but sometimes there is a little slot that it has to be mounted into. If you are very careful you may be able to mount it correctly and get it to work.
