I've been thinking about upgrade the p3 500mhz processor on my IBM Aptiva. I recently read about a slotket device that will allow you to plug a socket 370 processor onto a slot 1 motherboard which I have right now. Does anyone know if the slotket device will work specifically with my IBM Aptiva 2171-916?

It certainly should. The only thing you might have issues with is whether or not your bios will support the higher speed CPU's.
