BipolarBill 05-18-2003, 10:41 AM How much are you going to ask of 133MHz RAM? Try turning the multiplier down and the FSB up. JCB 05-18-2003, 10:54 AM Which Athlon are you running? Palomino or Tbred? Mhz??? Try here: http://www.beachlink.com/candjac/index.htm godzilla 05-18-2003, 11:07 AM yeah 166 really is the MAX! its the multiplier im stuck with. if i put the ram to 100 for example n the multipler to 14 , the multiplier either defaults back to 12.5 or gives me some screwy reading on start up and a slow speed in cpuid as well. the multiplier just wont go above 12.5 happily it does 12.5 and below no probs managed to update the bios with a little nudging in the right direction:t thinking this would sort it but it hasnt its a 1700xp tbred b.. thought the mb unlocke3d it all but mybe i have to reconnect some bridges? currently have the cpu at 2008mhz i think n looks like its got a lot yet to give but i only have 2100 ddr mem so i need a higher multiplier! godzilla 05-18-2003, 11:12 AM nevermind i think i got it sussed as far as i can make out i gotta connect some bridges somewhere to use the upper range of multipliers but i think it cancels out the lower ones:confused: heh time for some proper research into it.. JCB 05-18-2003, 12:03 PM I think (don't quote me) that you may have to cut a bridge... which is dangerous (and irreversible if your still under warranty.) Of course you could always reconnect later but... I'd suggest that you just invest in some kickass RAM and oc that bad boy over 200fsb. You're already set w/ the LO multipliers. After all that is the beauty of the nForce2. You can push the fsb w/out altering the other busses. Bigjakkstaffa 05-18-2003, 01:41 PM Tbreds are atuto unlocked on nf2 boards such as the 8rda+, have you checked for a NIOS update adressign this. Also your best off trying to get your max FSB at a lower multiplier really, and then and only then increasing multiplier, its a case of lowering and upping both until you find a good balance of FSB, speed and stability --Jakk:t Rocketmech 05-18-2003, 03:53 PM Its the XP1700+ , yea the 'B' is unlocked on the 8RDA+, but the XP1700+ uses the lower set of multipliers, 12.5 and lower . I think you would need to remap the higher ones and an extra L3 bridge , or something like that. Looks like you have a bottleneck, your ram. SysOpt.com
