Here's my system:

GA-8PE800 Ultra Motherboard (I845PE chipset)
Intel Pentium 4 3.06Ghz @ 3082Mhz
1Gb DDR RAM (PC2700)
160Gb hard disk (7200rpm, 8Mb buffer)
ATI Radeon 9700 Pro (128Mb)
Windows XP Pro SP1
Catalyst 3.4 (released today)

On 3DMark 2003, I got 4750 which I think is OKish.

On 3DMark 2001, build 330 I get 14290, which I think is way too low considering most of the reviews I've read get 15500 and above.

Apart from overclocking, what can I do? Using the latest drivers doesn't seem to make much difference.

At stock speed that sounds about right, you wont really get much unless you seriously overclock the CPU/memory frequency and vid card

lol, ok.

Its just that in reviews of systems with similar specs, they were getting 3dmark 2001 scores of 15500+, which made me wonder why mine was so low.

I did have initial trouble with my manufacturer trying to cheat me with the wrong graphics card and hard drive, but after a few months (and 10 angry letters), they coughed up for the right one. But as u can imagine I'm very suspicious. lol
