I recently installed McAfee Dr Solomons Virus Scan onto my PC (OS=Windows Millennium Edition), and now my PC won't switch on properly. It turns on, then a blue screen appears saying that there is an error - and I can't go any further! It worked fine before I installed the AV software. Please help asap as I need my PC for work purposes!!!
Thank You to anyone who can help!

Well, McAfee is known to do this. I was not aware they had screwed up Dr Solomons too though.
You can do one of two things...
1: Update it and hope the update helps the BSOD problem. To do this, you must uninstall the app first and then try to reinstall it and hope the same error is not going to happen.
2: Uninstall the app and gingerly carry it to an open window on the 20th floor and watch as it floats to the ground. (Uninstall it and never put a McAfee product on again...)
To uninstall, during boot, press F8. This will bring up an options menu. If you see the splash screen, you have waited too long to pres F8, so you must reboot and try again. Once the menu appears, chose the Safe Mode option. Once Win has booted, uninstall via the control panels, add remove programs feature. reboot and hopefully McAfee has not permanently damaged the system.
Good luck
Dave
