hi guys. i dont want to get into a big piracy argument here, but i need some help with selling my ps2.
Its chipped and can play (if needed) coppied dvd's and games. I want to sell it as i dont use it anymore. Can i legally sell it on ebay as i want to get rid of it as i need the money.

My friend told me that its not illegal to chip a ps2 its illegal to play coppied games is this true. I dont want to sell it on ebay then get into trouble. (obviously i will let the buyer know that the ps2 is chipped before selling it)

thanks
richard

Nope its not illegal to "Chip" or to own a "Chipped" Playstation...

Hmm......... Perhaps it could be sold as complete with "Software Upgrade" .......... Sounds a little more legitimate than "Chipped"

man, you can even sell it for twice the money

do you know how many people want the chip?

people will most likely buy the thing, just to rip the chip off, so then can put it on their own system

or resale it :D

Well! My friend lent me his 'chipped' PS2 and a few original games. Although he chipped the set, he still have a lot of original games. I wonder sometimes about my friend's thinking. What was he thinking? Anyway, the game console got one little problem. It takes a while to read copied games and the reading part is a bit weird.

Even original games also need a few Resets to play! Strange!

At most, you can sell for $600 Singapore dollars with the memory card and the two gamepads.

Anyway, don't include the games first. How many games do you have? If someone want to buy from you, negotiate with the party and you'll get a good price.

So you have one memory card, right? If you have another card, you can sell for $620 Singapore dollars. Twenty bucks more! The 'pirated' games? Sell them together with your console set and you'll get rid of them very easily.

I'd advise binning the chipped games or giving them to a mate, you aren't likely gonna get away with selling them on eBay, copied games ARE illegal to sell, unless the buyer has the original.

Ive checked up its not illegal to have a ps2 chipped. Also as i have no coppied games or coppied dvd's (thats why im selling it!) as i cant get hold of any, thats why im letting it go. I have 10PS2 games to sell with it + 2 controllers and mem card + cables.

Chipping a PS2 isn't illegal in Australia, and u can get it done anywhere (or so I've heard).
