Hey all i think im gonna buy a ti4200 but i cant decide what brand is best to get. I want to be able to overclock it very high. I hear ti4200's with 3.6ns memory is best?

Im gonna be running this card on a Abit BH7 Motherboard. On Newegg theres a "GAINWARD/CARDEXPERT GeForce 4, 8X AGP. Ti 4200 3.6ns 128MB DDR" for $132. Is this a good buy? I dont want to get something i'll regret later.

Thanks in advance

That should be fine. I prefer MSI cards though.

Depends if you get a good core or not. You see, the NV25 core is manufactured and then tested to attain if it is a higher yeilding 4600/4800 core or a lower yeilding 4200 core.

I have an MSI 4400, and I oc it to 4600+ core and memory(315/630) with ease. Just because mine works well doesn't mean yours will necessarily.

I don't have any experience with Gainward, but it looks good. You could always get it, try to OC it, then if it sucks at OCing return it and exchange it for something else you want.

Both Gainward and MSI are good overclockers

Good to hear that...!!
Looks like I'm getting an MSI GeForce to go in my latest build (together with MSI KT4VL mobo) ;)

My 64mb MSI t4200 is currently runnign at 280/610.. the core will go furthur

You would be better off geting a 128mb version of the card though despite its lower clocks
