I have been trying since Friday to update my blackice firewall, but their website has been down. If I try to do a tracert on them, it cannot resolve the hostname! www.networkice.com (http://www.networkice.com)
Did they go out of business or something?

I only use it because i like the logs and its dislay of who is doing what and what kinda "attack" it is. I don't like zone alarm and I tried Tiny Personal firewall for a while and didnt care for it. I am not really concerned with hackers, as almost all of their trojans will be caught by norton AV, I keep a close eye on my task manager in windows 2000, and frequenly do a netstat (also have a bandwidth meter running 24/7 so if packets start flying...i thikn I would notice http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif )

So in other words Soopastar, you use two other programs to do what you could do with a free version of Zone alarm, and pay $40 for the privilege? Hmmm...

I think I will stick with Zonealarm (at least while it is still free).

BlackICE isn't really a firewall.

NetworkICE had this to say about it: http://www.theregister.co.uk/content/8/19469.html

In anycase I'll be sticking with my trusty AtGuard...
