Dear All,
Please be patient with me as I know little about HTML and Tags. My comprehension of HTML is also weak. :(
I want to create the "item description" in Word and paste it to the E-Bay seller's description. I'd like every word in the description to be tagged so potential buyers will find the item when searching both titles and descriptions. ;)
Is there a HTML code to tag each and every word by putting such code at the begining and end of the paragraph? :confused:
Thanks

Not sure what you mean by "tagged" - have you been through the EBay help?

PB,
Well, as I understand HTML (and that's limited) a Meta Tag is a word or group of words that are "tagged" to be easily found by a search engine. They seem to be very desirable in the first paragraph of a business web site. With a good selection of Meta Tags, the product or service can be more easily found.
On E-Bay, the selection of "search titles and descriptions" would allow that search engine to find any words tagged by the seller in the description - thus a lot more search words would find the seller's product, even if the person searching is not using words in just the title.
My problem seems to be when I create the description in Word (a word processor)and paste it, the E-Bay HTML editor does not "tag" everthing in the said description. It probably does if I used that editor to originally type the description though - I don't want to do that. I want to take my time off-line to carefully compose the description of the item being sold. Also, attributes are easier for me in Word.
Yes, I used the E-Bay help functions but nothing addressed a cut and paste description.
One of the other forum members can, without doubt, better explain HTML and Meta Tags, than I. Suggest you ask one of the more "programming oriented" members or post a thread. I did not respond sooner because I thought one of them would jump in.

I can say that the only "tagging" tag in HTML is:
<meta name="keywords" value="keyword1, keyword2, etc" />
but that only works in the <head> section of the page, not sure if you can use it in ebay...

Ebay's own search engine can look for the title of an entry for an item up for sale, so make the title say it all.
If you are looking for tricks in the description part, look through other people's items until you find one that does what you're looking to do and then send the seller an e-mail and ask how it was achieved.
If you can't find an example of what you want to achieve easily it's probably not possible.
