Has anyone had trouble with this drive before? I have had some trouble with this one with jittery video and echoing and poping sound. I have a Inno3d 32Meg tornado card and a SB Live 5.1 and the sound doesnt do it in other apps. Does this drive produce ecessive heat and should be moved to have some breathing room? It does have a 80mm case fan right behind it. Would this be caused by a processor being a little warm, like 150f on a 1000 thunderbird?

I have worked with it before. How much memory you running. It took 256 mb to get rid of the jitters on the specific pc I am thinking of. Good Luck!

If you're talking about jumpy video when playing DVD video, are you using a Creative DXR3 decoder card with the Creative 12X player or are you using a software DVD player?
Do you have DMA enabled on the Creative 12X DVD drive?
You have a separate problem with your 150F temps on a T-Bird 1000... read some of the posts under Overclocking CPUs for possible solutions... you appear to need both better case cooling and CPU cooling or your CPU isn't going to last long. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

I have 256 MB of pc133 and am running win2000. I have a software decoder, and yes my processor is running hot, whick I know is not good, but unless there is something physically wrong with it, I don't know what else to try. I put a new 17cfm heatsink on it with artic silver and am running 2 80mm case fans. Could it be the drive itself overheating? I have a live drive ir mounted directly above it and nothing below it.

Can you cool down your proc a bit? Is it o/c?

Warthog--
I am working on the overheating problem.. I think that is the ultimate cause of all my problems. Nope it's not overclocked.

Go here: http://nerdsbyte.safeshopper.com/10/cat10.htm?533 and get a 30 CFM Delta 60x25 mm CPU fan... for $10.99 you can double the airflow on your heatsink and see a significant drop in your CPU temperatures, the fan you're using now is way too wimpy for any effective cooling.
This is a very quiet fan, even though it runs at 5800 RPM. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif
