i messed up a super 7 board that was running a K6-2 500mhz, while try to update the BIOS. It's not my main system, it's just a backup one.... but it has it's uses. Now i cannot boot properly, it just says CMOS Battery Low (also tried replacing with a new proper battery) or CMOS checksum error and freezes. I tried the boot block thing (using new rom image and autoexec file on floppy) and all other stuff. I even tried Hot Swapping it on another board, but because of chipset difference, i couldn't succeed in Hot Swap.

I need to get it running. Please help me out guys..... Help me find a really cheap (i am almost bankrupt!!!) replacement board.

OR... if u are kind enough and wouldn't mind helping out a fellow-being, please look around in your "old-stuff-pile" and when u find a workng Super Socket 7 board, please give http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif it to me. I can pay the shipping charges..... i need it , please guys, help me out. Although micro-atx (or at) would do, ANYTHING that works with my K6-2 500 is HIGHLY appreciated. Thanks a lot

Btw, the one i messed up is: http://203.161.230.38/598lmr.html

If u have the exact similar board (working or non-working), and u know the BIOS chip is good and contains a good flash, plese send the piece over.

Please guys.

Thanks a LOT

I'm sure someone has the link for it, or you can do a search on here for it...but there is a place that can sell you a new CMOS chip for your board. You can buy super7 board from many venors tho. just check pricewatch.com

i know i can buy it.... but that would be like buying a brand new 486 chip (esp since my other system is a TBird 1.33 with 256mg and 60g)

So, still hoping one of u will be kind enough to help me
