Hi
I am thinking of buying a TFT monitor.
I'm geting on a bit and my eye's are'nt what they used to be.
I have an old 15" monitor at present.
My Computer
Pentium 3 800mz
Memory 768mb
Video card Voodoo3 2000, 16MB

Will I need a new video card to run these type of monitor.
Are the video lead connections the same.
I am thinking of buying at least a 17" or larger.
What are considered to be the best or good makes, for a nice crisp clear screen.

Yes, you need a card that supports LCD which is noted by DVI.. It will ahve a VGA and DVI port, both. Like Some Geforces and Most of ATI cards. The radeon 8500LE is very nice 10x faster than your voodoo and can be had for well uner $100 supports DVI and two mon. at once if you wish (dual head version). The 9100 radeon is the "new" version of the old 8500LE with slightly lower gpu and mem speed, but doesnt sound like your a big gamer seeing how ya still got a voodoo there.;)

You'll get alot of dif opinions on that one. Let your eyes be the judge in the end. If you cant see that model first hand, then dont get it. I personally think Sony is the Shet but its also more $ too. But if your going for easy on the Eyes, go ATI with sony LCD mon. Best looking pic I ever laid my eyes on. Also pay attention to responce time, or fast moving movie scenes/games will have tearin geffect. You dont want that.;)
