IS it possible to adjust keyboard 'responsiveness'
WHat I mean is that this keyboard (Memorex MX5000) seems to take longer than I@m used to, to recognise that I've released the shift key, so I keep getting two caps typos (like 'IS' at the start of this post, 'WH' in 2nd sentence, and I@m instead of I'm)

Is there anything I can do about this? Annoying, and slows work down. I know I can sometimes autocorrect this (in Word, for example) but it's not always possible.

Might be your keyboard going bad. I'm expecting this cheap Memorex keyboard of mine to go bad any day. bought it for 15 bucks.

But try this.

Go to your control panel and look at your keyboard properties, and slide the bars for the repeat delay and repeat rate all the way to the right.

If it doesn't work, try another keyboard and see if it does the same thing. If it doesn't, it won't hurt to get a can of compressed air, unless you have a compressor in the back yard like I do with a really long hose and a blowing tip :D Try to clean out the keyboard. I have an IBM keyboad that I had to pop out all the keys and clean it's groves with a toothpick, you won't believe how much junk you can get in them.

Yup i went through about a dozen cotton buds fishing all of the cack out of my keyboard

one time I took one apart and washed the case with hot water to get rid of all of the coke and dirt and grime that my client's kids had all over it.

btw, those ibm keyboards are great, they have the keys protected so if you spill some liquid in them it won't go into the internals and short it out.

I usually take the caps lock key out and invert it. It's lame and annoying. I like reading it upside down. :p

My enter key is moire like a '7', much better than the ol' L shaped ones IMO

Mine is a "7" shape too, nice and big, the school ones are cack, i keep hitting "]" instead of "Enter" cos i always hit the "Enter" key high up. It poO.

I got IBM, but never drowned it, and wouldn't like to try either!

Uh, thanks
Didn't expect much interest in KEYBOARDS..!!!!

THanks (there it goes again...) for the suggestions gjimene2, though didn't work; I think this one's BAD (cheap, n' naughty...!!) - it's been doing this from day one.

Your best off spending 20 quid on a decent Logitech (or other respected brand) one that will last your for a good year or so than buying a crappy 10 quid one that needs replacing three tiems a year. Same goes for mice.

memorex can make pieces of chit.

I got a 15 dollar piece of chit, but it works nicely :)

I'm the type of guy who just wants a keyboard that has some quick launch buttons.4-5 to be exact, and programable too. and for them to have a wrist rest and not a "7" shaped key.
