This is more out of curiosity that anything...
My dad has some 3 piece Altec Lansing speaker setup for his comp. I was wondering if, theoretically speaking, I could add this other, slightly bigger, subwoofer to his by splicing and connecting the power wires. Would this be too much juice for one set up wires?

I have two subwoofers. I just took two sets of Altec-Lansing ACS33 speakers and got a headphone-splitter-thingy from Radioshack.

I have a Klipsch ProMedia 4.2 system and I don't think a second woofer really adds THAT much. Getting a bigger one like you mentioned would defiantly help but I wouldn't spend too much cash just to have a second one.
Just my thoughts

I was just curious how it would/could work. I don't even have a pc sound system - home theater all the way http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif
...and I don't need anymore bass (15" sub works quite well).
Thanks for the answers though, because I'm sure I will have to live in an apartment someday and will have to downgrade (the horror!) to a pc setup http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

I don't see a problem with that. The woofer is self powered and has a built-in cross-over. If you've got it laying around, do it.

get a 5.1 surround sound card, you can hook up 3 sets of anything to these, in theory you could only have 3 subs hooked up, or two subs and a speaker set, or three 3 piece sets
