I posted awhile back soliciting opinions on the Soltek Nforce2 boards and got mixed reviews - mostly recommendations to go MSI or Epox. Went ahead a got the SATA/Raid version due to the positive reviews posted on other sites. I am impressed with the features and flexibility of the bios on this board. I haven't yet pushed the limits - waiting for some better cooling. The set up was very easy. Check your FSB - it comes defaulted at 100Mhz.

I'm using Geil PC3200 400Mhz DDR (2 sticks of 256Mb) - the value version in the blue heat spreader. Like yourself, I was concerned about which ram to use. Newegg was out of stock of the Samsung I was originally going to order so I got this. As much hoohaw there is about this brand (of Ram) or that, I think it's mostly an issue of compatability with each individual motherboard. Bottom line - it"s a crapshoot.

Alright, commence with the flames!

I've leaned from another member that pushing the voltage on the Geil RAM up to 3.0 fixes the problems.

Take that with a grain of salt.

Holly outta spec batman!:D Geil mem supplies power to chips differently than most ddr. Thats why it has "issues" on some mobo's. Also why its soo good at handling overpowered vdimm.;)
