Scan Disk Troubles.........

Heres the problem. I think that my hard drive is fried.

The Trouble:
It says "If you run MS Dos program in safe mode you risk corrupting the video display or experience any abnormal.
Do you want to run the program anyway?"

It stops halfway (50%) through scan disk and starts over. And it won't go beyond that. Can anyone tell me what's wrong?

Well, if you don't care about the stuff inside the HDD there's a fast way to fix this

LOW LEVEL DISK FORMAT :p

but if you do want to "try" to save anything, gosh, that's gonna be a long one )-|

Are you saying that I should reinstall the operating system again? If not could you be more specific?

Yes re-install, but AFTER the low level disk format

go to your HDD manufacture website and download their utility software to do it

download the manufacturer's diagnostics software and check if the hard drive is defective or not first. no sense in trying to format a bad drive.
