I'm looking for some fairly easy to use architecture software. I'm looking for some popular software titles that would allow me to design homes.
I'm also looking for software which would allow me to design office buildings (big and/or small)...
Thanks!

I'm not actually building a home, I just want some simple floorplan software. I'm looking at Broderbund 3D Home Architect, and am looking for comments on that, if possible.

Get Sierra Home Architect or one of their packages that include it (Complete Home...). Beats Broderbund's hands down.

Go to www.cadopia.com (http://www.cadopia.com) and download Intellicad. Its free software and is a very good clone of AutoCAD.

Microsoft has a program called Visio that you can draw floor plans with. Some of the guys at work use it to draw parts for the machinists to work from. I think it costs 30 dollars. We use Catia as the offical standard. I assume it to be very expensive. In the machine shop we use Mastercam Also very expensive {20k} The good news is Mastercam has a draft verision that costs 40 dollars. It's real easy to learn to draw with.

Visio is a nice and easy to use program... But $30??? I hardly think so. The cheapest i've seen was $90 and that was for the standard upgrade version. The professional full version costs anywhere from $450 - $500
