I have an old Compaq 200 MMX with 24 RAM installed.You only can upgrade it to32.My problem,when I install the 32 stick i have a 16 RAM reading instead.I try a 64 RAM,then it displays 19 .What causes the inaccuracy?s

If it's anything like the old crashpaq comuters we had at work, then you have to get memory specifically for compaq. We tried a generic brand of memory with luck, and the company ended buying and spending much more money for memory designed for that computer.

You're probably right.The brand I used was a generic one.
