I know some guys who can take something and use it for something other than what it was intended for. I have a monitor that went blank, no power.... nothing. It still has warranty but the way they want it wrapped and shipped I can buy another one for the same price. So now...... is there anything worth saving from it before I trash it?

Have you pulled the cover and checked the fuse? It's normally located near where the power cord goes into it! Just be extremely careful, monitors have been known to bite! They can store electricity for quite a while! Just take your time, don't go touching everything you see inside, just look for a little glass fuse with a sivler metal cap on each end, when you find it, carefully pull it out without toching anything else and see if the little wire inside the glass tube is broke (if the glass is black, don't bother, it's blown!) If so, replace it with the same volt/amp rating as the one you took out.
It's pretty easy, just be careful, fuses are cheap!

The fuse in this case is a solid white with the metal end caps. Can't see the wire inside. It had not gave any problems, just went off, poof, dead, kaput, nada, n/a, dumpster nap. Tried the old aluminum foil on the fuse but still no picture. Thanks
