I'm looking for a Serial Hub, NOT USB (Universal Serial Bus) Hub. Everywhere i look keeps bringing up USB hubs.. already got one of those.. The closes i've found is PCI cards.. do they make a serial hub? is there such a thing?
If there is, please stick an address to a site that carries them..
Thx,
Shadal

What are you going to use it for? To add a bunch of peripherals or to network some computers together. I can't imagine why you would want serial, it's so slow. Only thing I could think of is you have a bunch of old serial devices like game controlers and such. For a home network use ethernet.

The rocket port hub is the network kind of hub, and not the pheriphial kind of hub.
A hub simply means a device that splits ports, but these days its mostly use to mean Ethernet ports, which is what the rocket serial hub is.
What you make, I think exists, but is likely to be in such low demand that prices are high. It would probably be cheaper to buy a new USB version of a Serial device you have, than to buy one. I did find a couple on a search but they are all combo hubs. The cheapest one's I found with more than one serial connection was a 4USB/2Serial/1Parallel port hub, which clocked in at $130

I think this ones a lost cause. The PCI one would be the easiest way. Another way would be to get rid of some of that Serial stuff and get USB stuff. USB is not dying anytime soon, so now's a good time as ever to jump on board.

I believe what you're looking for is a "Serial Switch Box" go to http://www.pricewatch.com/ and do a search for it, you'll find plenty!
