so, i am looking for budget stuff for someone i am building a PC for, and i was wondering. i found a ATX mini tower, and it said it supported mini ATX boards. does this mean i can't put a standard, run-of-the-mill, ATX mobo in it?

Micro (mini) ATX cases typically won't support a regular ATX motherboard, (unless specified otherwise). The main design difference is the number of expansion slots. Micro-ATX boards and their supporting cases have only 4 slots. Compare this with the 7 slots on an ATX board ...it's just not going to work.
