Test your firewall here guys. Be safe, not sorry

Here is a site that will (with your permission of course) probe your computer while online, and see if it can get thru...then give you the results. I have Zone set to max stealth, and it passed...for now...but, it does give you a wake up call.

There are two tests, Test my shields, and Probe my ports...run them both.

grc is a great site. the optout program is no longer available but he recommends AD Ware at http://www.lavasoft.de/ . i downloaded it and it works great.

I really like GRC.com; not only because of ShieldsUp, but also for the GREAT info that can be found in their ShieldsUP! FAQ Page (http://grc.com/faq-shieldsup.htm)

Sygate.com (http://scan.sygatetech.com/) probably offers a better overall test if you run all the scans. They are: Quick Scan, Stealth Scan, Trojan Scan, TCP Scan, UDP Scan, and ICMP Scan.

HackerWacker.com (http://www.hackerwhacker.com) also offers a good web-based security scan. You may run it one time for FREE as long as you have a email that they can verify. "Web" E-Mail services like Hotmail or Yahoo, are NOT accepted as E-Mail addresses.

Thanx for the links guys. For some reason, i can't seem to get grc.com to work for me. It just won't scan me. I've been using Sygate's firewall and so far, i haven't had any problems. Personally, i like it a lot better than zone alarm.

My shields are up and running, and every port tests at "Stealth Mode." (even port 80)

Could this be that hardware firewall that I'm running? http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif

I've known about GRC for a few months, and he has some of the best software I've seen. Especially look at his spyware hunter, OptOut. I use it on a regular basis to check for infiltrators.
