I want to add ATA/100 7200 to my old computer, but motherboard only has two IDE channels (classic setup) wich are both ATA/33 (no blue ide channel). It boots up and recognizes the drive only at 8GB. It is connected as slave on primary ide with regular ATA33 cable (I am amazed it even recognized it) Computer running Windows 98 Upgrade (not SE) Well I am wondering how to get my new drive working with my current motherboard. Is there a special card i can add?

You have to update the BIOS on your computer. Tell us some system details and I'm sure we can help you more.

You can add a ATA100 controller PCI card, such as the Abit Hotrod. This gives you 2 additional channels that are ATA100. I've got an older Hotrod ATA66 in my Abit BH6 motherboard and it's great.
see: http://www.abit-usa.com/english/index.htm and look under peripheral cards.
