I find DIVX to be very poor in syncronization, almost all the films I get are out of sync, is this a quality setting, I have 512mb ram, AMD 2000+ and a geforce 4, so power is there, does anyone have any idea why sync is so bad?

Soem films to tend to run out of sync in DivX Player i've found occasionally. Instead try running it in Mplayer2 (start>run>mplayer2(enter)), that usually works okay for me

Ok, first of all I should say I'm not the Divx expert at all. Anyway, my boyfriend is, so I know a little about it.

Divx quality/sync can be really great, but some people really mess it up while encoding it. If you want to try encoding movies to divx, I recommend using a program called dvdxcopy. Also if you want to encode, use one of the older Divx codecs like 4.12, because most programs do support this and not one of the newer versions.

Oh, don't forget if a movie is badly sync'd, you can adjust it a little with the divx codec options included. There are also some progs to help sync better, but I don't remember what they're called.

I have always found out of sync movies played beautifully using the orginal Divx Player 2 allpha 5(thats the current release)...or in think the Divx Playa...also did good job of it.

Are these files that you encoded yourself? If so what programs are you using? I use Divx often and have encoded hundreds of videos and our specs are close to the same, all my videos are in perfect sync. Give me some specifics and I'll try to help.:)

 Actually burnup I built a video server for my home network and converted all my DVD's to DivX and stored them on the server. I use the TV outs on our vidcards to watch them on demand on any TV in the house. I also record Satt. TV progs into mpeg and then convert them to DivX and archive them with commercials edited out of course. I have hours of cartoons for my son and daughter (including every spongebob episode I think) so they can watch'em when they want. I don't trade video's so I believe I'm all legal for home use(mostly).:D
