heat sink removal...??

does anyone know how I can remove this heat sink czu im gonna replace it with a better one with a fan :)

Its wierd its not like stuck on there, im able to lift if off of the chipset a little bit but it just springs back into place. The 2 rods on the side are keeping me from removing it......im guessing theres some special way to remove it, anyone know how????

On the other side of the mainboard you'll see two black barbed pins protruding through the board from that heat sink. You need to carefully press those two barbs back in towards the pin and push them through the board at the same time.

theres no way to do it from the ohter side of the motherboard??

If there was an easier way I would have told you.

You may also be able to pull those pins out, which should collapse the pin housing and allow you to remove it (I used needle nose pliers to pull the pins form the MSI GeForce 4, It was easy enough) if you're trying to do it with the thing still in there... good luck... :t
