Can we use Win98Se with more than 512mb of ram? If yes, how can we achieve this?

You can get around the 512mb limit, but it's not really worth it to run that much ram in win98. it doesn't make that much of a performance difference, if any. try benchmarking it and see. you would be better off upgrading to win2k or xp if you have more than 512mb of ram.

i ran 98se with 512 and then 1024 for about 2 weeks. will crash more often and windows really wont use anything above 256 in my experience. anything over that and resources available never go up. i tried the fix in msconfig and it darn near killed my machine, had to reboot in safe mode and undo it. before that windows kept saying i had -70 gb free on hd that really had 72 gb ( +) free.

If you're using more than 256Mb of ram then you really should use XP.

Or at least 2000.

xp has more overhead, but it has everything 2k has and more. if you strip down all the bells and whistles, xp is pretty close to 2k.

2000, but if you just wanna plug straight in and get on with it, XP is for you

Yeah win xp is more user friendly.
Setting up a broadband connection is very easy.
But in 2k............lets just I quickly went back to xp.
