What is advantage of 2 HD on computer other than storing more progs.? Also...is there a way to switch from one hd to other hd without changing startup order. I would like to be able to switch hds w/o restarting. Impossible????
Thanks in advance

The main advantage i see is identical to my case. I bought my computer nearly 1 year ago, with a quantum bigfoot 8 gig hd in it. The drive is not only nearly full, it is incredibly slow, and now the main bottleneck of my computer. It turns at 4000 rpms, where as the new ka+ fireball models turn at 7200, and 10,000 rpm models are just around the corner. This then is the main advantage, especially if it's been a year or two since your computer was bought, the new one will nearly inevitably be much faster. If you are referring to dual booting different oses, I'm pretty sure that can only be done off the master drive, with different partitions, not off a slave drive. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

You can always create a "ghost" partition that will copy all the files needed in case of a crash. You can also use a program called "cleansweep" (Norton's) to move programs from one disk into the other. I use a second hard drive in case of a major computer crash. Believe me, it was useful last year.

Hotrod,
My Epox Mvp3 allows me the ability to boot to my primary slave, (per changing primary master to none in bios).
Lecoma,
Perhaps your bios has the same capablity, but of course you would need to reboot.

Doesn't Partition Magic have a program that lets you pick from a menu in the boot-up which OS you want to start?
