I'm working on becoming better at using flash. As I was exploring different sites, I noticed that of all the sites that I've been to, I've never seen one that involves a good animation that looks like something is revolving around a planet. This is a little confusing, so I'll clarify... let's just say that I want to animate a satellite going around a planet but not in the plane of the screen, (for simplicity) let's do it in the plane that is perpendicular to the screen so that the satellite is coming out at you and then going behind the planet.

can anyone point me to a site where this is done well, just so I can see it, or better yet can anyone tell me how to do this??

thanks a ton,
-Z

not a flash master, but I played with Flash 3 a few years ago.

You could probably just move the shape(tweening I think it's called.) You would have to have to lines to tween on, one as it comes around to the front, and grows bigger, and the other as it goes around back and grows smaller. The lines would be eliptical, and you'd have a little more then a quarter of the elipse. Also need some type of delay where you can't see it when its eclipsed by the planet.
Hope this helps a little.

Try flashkit.com, I have seen several examples there of just what you are trying to do.
