Dang! No sooner did I post this thread (http://www.sysopt.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&postid=879575#post879575) and I noticed my cd-rom can't read anymore. The driver properties say it is working but this is just a stupid computer. Myself and my dog Spot as my assistant shall attempt to operate on it. Check back for the post operative report.

Be gentle and keep an eye on Spot. It may be the Easter Dust Bunny.

It is a 40x Vintech. ( I never heard of it before ) I blasted it out with 25 psi compressed air. It started to work but still needed major surgery. I opened it up and found a scrap of paper inside. I would post a picture but Spot ate it!!! Now I know why I got it so cheap on E-bay. It seems to be working OK now but does not like my cdrw disks. I'll torture test by loading a 125,000 clip art library. Wish me luck. ;)

The Easter Dust Bunny!!!

Perhaps it's telling me to go to church. :)

Did you wipe the lens when you were in there? ( A little alcohol on a swab).
I have, to my astonishment, had dramatic results from those lens cleaning discs.

No, I thought of it but decided to see if it was just the paper causing the problem. I guess we'll have to reopen the patient. Dang, where's that stupid dog?
