Does anyone have any experience with these drives:
IBM DJNA 9,1 GB 7200rpm U-DMA 66
IBM DTTA 14,4 GB 7200rpm U-DMA 66

Is there any other difference between the two (except the size off course)?

How does the cache (2mb on DJNA) influence the overall performance of your system?

Any benchmarks?

thanks
John

Hello

Allow me to say that you have made an excellent choice with IBM HD.

Go for the DJNA model (ie 22Gxp series). The 2Mb cache does make a big difference. The more you have, the best.
FYI, the IBM 36LZX (SCSI U2W) has 8Mb cache !!!

The 22Gxp series come in several sizes (all 2Mb cache, 7200rpm): 9.1, 13.5, 18 and 22Gb
These HD are really fast. I am currently using 2 IBM 22Gxp 9.1Gb in a RAID0 config (with Promise FastTrack controller).
I have done some benchmarks, and it is faster than a single U2W HD.

You can not go wrong with IBM HD...
