I have an Abit AT7 Max (kt333) motherboard.
They use a thermistor to measure the core temperature, now what I want to do is tap the embedded diode to read the temperature.

So I started looking for a sensor that was supported by MBM that I could use to read the diode.

I found one, a Maxim MAX 6654.

It's easy enough to fit since it is read via the SMBUS, all I have to do is solder 2 leads to the back of the socket.

Anyway, the board is made and ready to fit. I just thought I would ask and see if anyone else has done this, am I about to seroiusly eff up my board or will it work?

I've also added an extra jumper to unlock the CPU (similar to the wire trick) . It means I have to solder 2 more leads onto the back of the socket, no big deal.

Here's a pic of the card with the sensor.
