On boot up, go into the BIOS and check that your FSB is set to 133mhz.

hmm...well the jumper on the MB is set for 333/266 fsb...don't know if thats relevant....i'll check on the bios fsb setting a little later...
but...could it possibly be that i need a bios update? don't know much about bios...so i could use as much feedback as possible..thanx

For some reason. some amd chips dont auto detect.

Press delete on boot up to go into the bios, check in the advanced section where you will find the chipset timings etc....
Easy to do, takes about 2 seconds!!

Flash the bios only when you know what revision your mobo is and for general use stick with the bundled bios until you have a specific problem or when you want to start overclocking by altering fsb multipliers.
