I want to set up a ftp server which will link directly to my PC, allowing me to share certain files and allowing me to upload to my PC from another location. I have tried to use what they have provided at www.dns2go.com (http://www.dns2go.com) but I cant seem to connect to my ftp. I am a beginner at this and really need to know what I need to do. Can anyone recomend any other free services such as the one offered at www.dns2go.com, (http://www.dns2go.com,) I would be also interested in setting up a mail server, which is something I can play with later. Aside from my PC at home I have another which I have been using as for an IC and LAN server.

Hey Vert dnstogo seems pretty cool as opposed to using Linux or? Have you contacted them, seems like yer prob could be a simple one, im checking deeper into dnstogo now, are ya on a dialup or? What OS are ya usin? Seems killer if you can get it to work, supports Win, Linux, Mac, Unix etc ZDnet rates it a 5 star program, pretty good recommendation from them...
Jeeeeez now I see your problem, ive been put in a circle of them attempting to get me to pay for a free service and cant go furthur---maybe someone with more patience can figure it out, the docs seem to suggest its possible...call me a dummy...

using Win2K, cable connection
Win2K comes with a built-in FTP server. You'll need to enable it under the IIS services and you'll need to setup who has access to it. I use it all the time to transfer data files to/from other computers at work.
Dunno about a mail server since I've never set one up.
