Hi,
My question is that wen i open up a pic file that is stored in my documents folder it says :
C:\My documents\13.jpg Microsoft internet explorer provided by freeserve.
And it will only open in like my windows browser, like as if im connected to the internet
Im running a clean reinstall of windows 98se
How do i get these to open up with my MGI Photo suite ?
And why are they bein saved sometimes as GIF Files?
Thanks for any ideas on this
Mike

Press your Shift key and right-click any file. Select Open with... and check "Always open this file type..." while selecting the program of choice.
You can also set file associations in the preferences/options for the MGI application.

there are two types of popular graphic formats used on the web, JPEG (.jpg) and GIF (.gif). They provide different types of compression which have different applications. GIF files also have the advantage of storing multiple images and showing them in squence.
You can change the exact extension association in Tools-Folder Options within my computer as well, although the shift trick is by-far the easiest.

I know it's not what you're asking, but Irfanview is a great viewer. Try it!

Hey, DocEvi1!
I'm so sorry about the mixup in names! I was really responding to rainman202's post, suggesting an alternative viewer, should he feel the need to use one.
Of course it has nothing to do with extentions. No need to be confused :)
My apologies.
youlla.

It doesn't take much to confuse me ;)
