I have a Brother 4600 MFC on LPT1 and an HP 612 inkjet on LPT2 PCA Parallel port.

I want to hook up my HP 4+ Lazerjet to the PC. I have a ISA Parallel port card. It can use LPT 1 or 2 and IRQ 5 or 7 depending on how the jumpers are set. I would probably put one of the HP on LPT3.

I'm really not sure what I am doing. Any suggestions on how I do this and what setting I should use would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to SysOpt! http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

I had a similar situation and found that somewhere between the BIOS and the OS, ports and IRQs kept getting reassigned. I just kept playing and testing until everything worked. Then I'd change one thing or another and go through the whole process again.

Now I simply use a cheap switch box. Much easier, as long as I remember to switch it! http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif

Bike,

Like Roy mentioned there, you might be better off getting a switch. I know I have had tons of problems added another LPT, I cannot imagine adding a 3rd one. But like Roy said too if you have to then just keep tweaking the settings. I have a feelings its gonna take a while for you to get all the IRQ's right.

I have 2 printers sharing one pc and another pc sharing one of those printers via a switch box. It is a Belkins auto switch. you could hook one of you parallel ports to the autoswitch and then to 2 printers and the nice thing about the autoswitch is it does not have to be manully switched. Just pick out the printer you want and you are a printing
