You will need at least $1500 to get that thing up and running.

Depending on the processor he chooses to go with, it maybe much more.. The motherboard, 2 x Xoen 2.4Ghz 533Mhz, and Antec True550 EPS12V alone costed me close to $1000. I paid $245 for for my board...

Wow! That's a hard one...

Really hard to say since I built this system little by little over a period of time... This system started as a Dual AMD MP2000+ system and before that, it was a Dual P3 1Ghz.

I would say it close to $3,000 with the current configuration. Just for the system, no monitor. Give or take a couple hundred depending where you buy the parts..
