Unable to write to drive c

had a problem this weekend left my computer on and running
specs:
750 duron
128 ram
13gig AGP
ATI AGP
rtl8139 NIC
yamaha dxg audio
FIC MOBO

I came to find a message on screen unable to write to drive c. Okay nuttin else i see to do but shut down and restart, upon reboot error messages unable to boot invalid sys disk nothing works that i try i'm stuck, ok reformat start again no such luck un "able to read from sector 0 drive unuseable"
**** ok tryed to fdisk unable to delete partion cause its been renamed and i cant get the characters typed now im lost. So i take to the one guy who tought me everything i know he says i have a virus then he starts diggin his old pile of floppys pulls one out installs the HD on comp hes working on and formats it @ fat 16. Then all i have to do is fdisk it delete the partions and reformat it @ fat 32 works now i have my HD back. I only tell this cause i wonder if any one else has had something like this happen to them

had the similar problem. in the middle of burnin a cd blue screen of death says it can't write to drive c:. called maxtor (manufacturer of drive) and gave them the error code from the HD diagnostics program and they told me I had a messed drive. they sent me a new one. your solution sounds like it didn't take as long as mine did. I learned to do things besides sit at my computer. It was nice whil it lasted. hehe
