Hey gang I need some help in understanding something with my new CPU. I recently purchased a new AMD Athlon XP 2000+ processor and a Gigabyte GA-7VAX Mobo. When you set-up the mobo for your applicable CPU you have a set of jumpers to set your CPU clock speed (ie...100MHZ, 133 MHZ or 166 MHZ). I have to set clock speed to 100 MHZ or the computer will not boot up, this is my confusion. I thought with my processor I would be able to set higher clock speed. Was wondering if anyone can shed some light on this. I am relatively new (2 years) to puters and really trying to learn.. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Read this thread. The main poster doesn't have your problem, but someone else along the way did. My guess is you need to put your DIMM in the second slot. And if you're interested in the .PDF mobo manual, here it is:

(that's one good-lookin' board).
And here are some gents on our site who've reviewed this board:

Hope something in here's useful to ya.
