OKay,

ive tried everything to get rid of messenger 4.7
i need it on the comp installed for remote assisntance purposes but i use the new 5.0. It allows me to log on when i wish and only when i want


BUT FRIGGIN MESSENGER 4.7 still logs in when i go into outlook express. WHAT A PIS# off!!! Whats even worse, there is no icon showing its logged in, I get messeges out of nowhere from friends saying im logged on. I cant even see it.

tried all the disablements in outlook ex. and within messenger itself. all kinds of reg stuff

Any one have a sure way of disabling messenger from starting. even in admin option it still logs in without an icon showing its loaded

Try this: click Start, Run, and enter "RunDll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection %windir%\INF\msmsgs.inf,BLC.Remove" without the quotation marks. You'll need administrator privileges. :)
