want better performance(what's new) need to know how to move the swapfile to the fastest spinning parts. or does norton's speedisk do this for me. also I've got my swapfile set at 2 times my ram, but I've got plenty of space on my hard drive would I be better off just setting it at 4 x RAM, and using the extra space on my drive.

Yes, Norton Speed Disk will do it for you. If I remember correctly, (I haven't reinstalled since reformatting) you just set the options to optmize and the legend will show the brown clusters organizing at the top, brown being the swapfile.

On setting the size, it depends how much RAM, i.e., I have 256mg of SDRAM and have my swap set for 140mgs min/max. Using Windows System Monitor, you can see if/how much swap is being used. You can adjust it of course to what's optimal for your system.

If you haven't seen it yet, a good reference site is: http://epsilon.silicon.net.my/adrian/ and head to the Speed Demonz Page.

Norton SpeedDisk will absolutely do it.

Do it all the time. Much faster than windows built in defrag also.
