hey
im planning on making my own case, im using anti-static plexiglass (my dad sells plastics for aliving so he knows all the distributers) anyways i was thinking of designs, u know out of the classic. what about a case w/ tapered sides w/ a in and out fan on either end of the tapered case to create a wind tunnel effect surrounding the mobo w/ cool rushing air, then put a fan on top the the ps and hdd and maybe one over the 5.25 in bays? willthe idea works?
jak
is this clear enough description?

I've made a few custom cases and it's a little tricky! Your best bet would be to build a full size model out of cardboard or something cheap and easy to work with. Get all your "cut-outs" right (drives, PSU, etc) so you can use it for a template. When you have something you like, figure what materials you'll need and go for it!
Here's a link to an oak case I made: http://webpages.cableamericahsa.com/Randy48/oak.htm This one's running a AMD K6 2+ 500@616 and RedHat 7.1
And my favorite...my "Keg O PC" http://webpages.cableamericahsa.com/Randy48/keg.htm This one has a AMD K6 2 300@448 Red Hat 7.1

Yes I purchased the Clearview case, I think it would be difficult to create a case with anything more then right angles...

naw just common geometry, jsut gotta get measurements and use formulas for correct length and angles on paper beforehand. it will be well planned for best airflow i think, does the shape sound like a good design for airflow?
JAK
wish i could draw it for you but dont have a photo hosting thing and dont want to bother w/ settin one up now
