Hello all-

I am faced with another decision about my new system, and would like to ask you for some advice.

I ended up doing quite a bit of IO through CDs, and need a top of the line CD drive. From my initial research, Kenwood's 72x drive seems to be the winner. However, is it worth looking for one that has a SCSI interface (my harddrives are all SCSI). If so, can somone recomend a good SCSI drive?
After intalling fast processors and memory, i found that the IO was a bottleneck, so I went with SCSI 15,000 rpm stuff, and it awsome. I am wondering if the same will be true with the cd rom, or even with the cd burner.

Thanks.

Plextor CD and CDRW drives are the bomb when it comes to SCSI drives. Fast and reliable.

Also, what will be the difference in performance of two identical cd drives, one SCSI and one not, weather Plextor or Kenwood, or whatever.

thanks.
