I remember reading something about a program or a way that could let you dowload entire websites to view offline,it would be useful to download all the posts from here as it is a goldmine of information, and would be especially usefull if i had a problem and couldn't connect to the internet. can you help me do it?

WEll, I only have a dailup connection and I donwloaded about 2MB of this site adn it copied everything correctly that I did "grab" so If you have high speed access I would recommnd giving it a try.
I didnt really see a Synchronize feature. Soo when new post are added I guess you would have to download the enitre site again. I would think just download it every month or so. But it is pretty simple all you have to do is tell it where to store the files and enter the address, there are more options to cuzimize it to your needs.
The demo version only works for 15 days but you can still view what you downloaded after that.

it doesnt seem to download everything, every time i click on the forums to read the posts it says this page is not available offline.this site must be bigger than 2mb surely, mine was also 2mb but it just seems to be a few pages,i cant find the actual posts in there without it wanting to connect.

I wanted to do the same thing.

till i found out sysopt is about 5 GB

it will take on 56k 16666 mins at 5KB/s
833 mins on DSL at 100KB/s

so watch out and make sure you have plenty of space.

WOAH!!
That's WAY too much time to sit and idle..
It would seem easier just to go to friends house and use their computer..

i wonder if those lovely people at sysopt would back up the whole site for us {like in win98}with high compression so we could expand our wisdom offline by downloading it,just an idea.

The site is too large and too frequently updated for that to make much sense. Even compressed it would be too large for anyone but those with the fastest connections to handle, not to mention the bandwidth requirements would be off the chart - costing us a ton of dough to provide the download without offering any direct return in page views, etc., at the same time.

thanks for the numbers. with my 56k dial up it would take me days to download. i did like the thought of having sysopt offline as well as on.
